According to the recent IFR ECM Roundtable, during Q1 2015 Equity and equity related issuance got off to a strong start with 382 issues raining US$76 billion in Europe - led by the UK (US$16.8bn), Spain (US$16bn), France (US$9.8bn), Germany (US$6.6bn), Italy (US$6.2bn) and RoI (US$3.7bn) - signalling a return of peripheral issuance as well as significant volumes in core Europe.
IPO markets too were up on the same period last year, with US$20.5bn across 61 IPOs in Q1-15 compared with US$17.5bn in Q1-14.
The pipeline for H2 is strong with a flow of new issues expected across EMEA. How long will these upward trends continue and what will be the key factors driving continued growth in EMEA equity issuance?
